Managing a Teams meeting with people outside of Sense Scotland
Set your meeting up as normal and enter the email addresses for all participants
Joining a Teams Meeting as a Guest from a desktop or laptop computer
Non Sense Scotland attendees will get a meeting notification through their email that they can accept. Within this email will be a link to join the Teams meeting.
When they click on the link they will be asked how they wish to enter the meeting:
- Download the Windows App
- Join on this browser
- Open your Teams app
If they already have their own O365 account they can choose any of the options above. For attendees who do not have an O365 account then they should choose the second option and “Continue on this browser”.
They will then be prompted to allow the browser access to their microphone and/or camera. They should choose the ALLOW option.
They will then be prompted to click on the JOIN NOW button in order to enter the meeting.
They will be taken to a lobby area if the meeting has not yet started.
The meeting host will be notified that their guest is waiting. The host can then either admit the guest or view the lobby and then admit the guest.
Once the meeting organiser has started the meeting and admitted all guests from the lobby the meeting will progress as normal.
Joining a meeting from a mobile device (e.g. an iPhone or iPad)
To join a meeting from your mobile phone you will first need to download the Teams app. Once downloaded you can simply click on the link within the meeting invite as normal and join as a guest.
