NHS Protect Scotland App

"The Protect Scotland app from NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect is a free, mobile phone app designed to help us protect each other, reduce the spread of coronavirus and avoid further lockdowns.

The app will alert you if you have been in close contact with another app user who tests positive for coronavirus. And if you test positive, it can help in determining contacts that you may have otherwise missed while keeping your information private and anonymous.

Using the Protect Scotland app, along with sticking to current public health measures, will help us to stay safe when we meet up, socialise, work or travel.

As we see the rate of infection start to rise, it is important that we all download and use the Protect Scotland app to help stop the spread of coronavirus."

Installing the App

The app will automatically install on your Sense Scotland mobile phone but will require you to undertake the following steps to finalise the installation.

after the app has installed you will need to open it and agree to certain statements.

Please choose the appropriate option in the age verification screen below...

Verify that you are living in Scotland...

Next you will have to scroll through 3 information screens using the NEXT button at the bottom of each page to progress to the next stage.

In the final stages of the process you will be asked to agree to the app's Terms & Conditions and an additional information page.

Finally you will be required to TURN ON the app's Exposure Notifications (see image below).
