Cannot install printer - print processor does not exist

Encountered these error message during printer / setup installations and i found the following solution that worked.

Tried the following

- Delete all the drivers and try to reinstall them

Solution

- Firstly, remove all printer drivers installed, stop the print spooler service.

- Open registery editor (Start > Search > type regedit.exe and press Enter)

- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Print Processors\winprint in registry editor.

- Check for existence of Driver key. If it does not exist, add new string value named Driver and set it equal to winprint.dll.

- Restart the Print Spooler service
